The purpose of the planned Septopure® establishment is to receive and clean the faecal sludge mechanically and biologically. It is recommended that the plant capacity be 1000 m3 / day. The aim of the planned faecal sludge cleaning facility in Kumasi is to mechanically and biologically clean the incoming 1000 m3/d raw municipal septage. The septage is hauled for 7-17 hours every day, by hauling trucks of various tank capacities. The main pollutants of the delivered septage are coarse and floating wastes, quick-settling sediments (organic and inorganic), dissolved and colloidal organic material, and different N and P forms. The plant's main purpose is to treat the incoming septage in a way that significantly lowers the overall environmental impact concerning both the main stream (treated wastewater) and the side streams (screen wastes, sands different sludges).
- faecal sludge treatment
- chemically aided primary clarification
- biological treatment, N and P removal
- ensuring the disinfection of the treated water (liquid phase)
- automatic thickening and dehydration of the sludges produced by the primary clarification and the biological treatment steps
- disinfection
- treated and disinfected wastewater flows into a nearby stream

Field of application
It is recommended for a capacity of the plant is 1000 m3/day.
Advantages of the product
- mechanical pre-cleaning chemical pre-sedimentation
- pre-sedimentation and biological treatment
- aerobic activated sludge treatment with N and P removal
- mechanical compaction and dewatering of generated waste, sludges
