PURE-BIOCOS® is based on a combination of continuous flow technologies and SBR systems represents an advancement compared to them. It is used where nitrification and denitrification take place in a batch aerated space, while phase separation takes place in two parallel post-sedimentation basins. The technology works with compressed air, there are no rotating parts in it. Both recirculated sludge and biological sludge are taken out by a compressed air-controlled mammoth pump. No mixers, electric pumps are required, resulting in less maintenance cost and significant lower risk of malfunction. Due to its advanced working mechanism the technology is flexible: it can be adopted to changing load conditons, and can handle hydraulic loads for example in case of heavy stormwater apperance the sewer system. Mechanical pre-treatment, pre-setting tanks, sludge drying application, UV treatment, chlorination, arrangement of single installation sections, etc. can be attached to the technology.

  • COMPACT CONFIGURATION
  •  SPACE-SAVING SYSTEM
  •  LOW ENERGY CONSUMPTION
  •  HIGH EFFICIENCY
  •  FLEXIBLE TECHNOLOGY

Fields of application

  • PURE-BIOCOS® biological systems are used above a capacity of 500 m3 / day.

Advantages of the product

  • no excavator bridge required
  • smaller floor space requirement compared to traditional technology
  •  innovative but proven technology
  •  cost-effective solution
  •  capital investment savings

Technical data

  • Dissolved organic matter in wastewater is converted by microorganisms into carbon dioxide, water and biomass.
  • The technology consists of the following steps:
  1. Aeration pool with the following cycles: raw water dispatch/nitrification, denitrification (mixing)
  2. Post-sedimentation pools (in parallel arrangement)
  3. Intermittent aeration must be provided for the technology to work by means of a surface aeration or a fine-bubble deep aeration unit. The amount of oxygen to be ingested can be controlled by measuring an oxygen probe, and aeration can be programmed for the lowest energy consumption.
