PURECO to construct a second wastewater treatment plant in Ghana

Based on ongoing successful professional and technical Ghanaian-Hungarian cooperation and fruitful dialogue between Pureco Ltd. and Sewerages System Ltd., a subsidiary of the Jospong Group of Companies, this unique partnership have set the objective of building a state-of-the-art, fully customised wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in Takoradi to solve the environmental and sanitation problem of the city. According to President Akufo-Addo, “the Plant will treat someone thousand (1,000) cubic meters of wastewater, which will, in turn, serve up to two million people in the municipality and the Western Region.”  We are pleased that our expertise in the field of water treatment has been recognised and we can work with our Ghanaian colleagues not only in Kumasi but in Takoradi as well. Considering the challenges Takoradi is facing in terms of wastewater treatment, PURECO, Sewerage Systems and Zoomlion will together build an effective, affordable, sustainable system with know-how and technology-driven solutions to provide a customized project for the people of Takoradi. Bearing in mind the proposed technologies and the local and international references, together we will establish a reliable wastewater treatment system to meet for the increasing demands in the city of Takoradi. Additionally, through the training programs, the local workforce will be involved into how to operate and maintain the plant, therefore, new jobs will be created in this very important field that helps the city achieve its environment-related goals.
