Pureco to construct a new WWTP in Kumasi
The project is designed and implemented by Pureco as a result of a partnership and contract between a Hungarian company and a Ghanaian as the first of its kind in sub-Saharan Africa firm to bring development to the people.

Pureco to construct a new WWTP in Kumasi

In-line with the local conditions and needs we designed and build a tailor-made wastewater treatment plant in Kumasi not only providing optimal technological solution for the city but giving priority to training programs as well in order to build capacity and help the local people to operate and maintain the system, offering not only treated wastewater but jobs and educational supports for the citizens of Kumasi.

In Kumasi, with more than 3 million citizens, only 7-10% of the wastewater is adequately treated. From an environmental and public health point of view, the urgent development of new wastewater treatment facilities is indispensable for the city. By establishing the new, sustainable wastewater treatment plant - jointly financed by the Hungarian Exim Bank, the government of Hungary and the Jospong Group of Companies - the livelihood of the citizens will be improved as they can live in a healthier environment.
