Last Wednesday we have gladly read the letter of John BERRIGAN, the Director General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union in that he congratulated Mr. Károly Kovács on his appointment as a Member of the European Commission's Platform on Sustainable Finance. Mr. Kovács was selected from a large pool of excellent candidates and the EC is convinced that his impressive expertise will be instrumental to the overall success of the Platform and will be particularly meaningful in assisting the Commission with the development of an EU taxonomy. The full list of the 50 selected members was published on 1st of October 2020 on the Commission webpage for expert groups. The deliverables of the Platform on the implementation of the Taxonomy Regulation1 will be essential building blocks for a European sustainable financial system that fully supports the transition towards a sustainable economy, one of the key priorities of the Commission. The first meeting of the Platform will be held virtually on the 15th and 16th of October 2020.
